Judge Irv Maze of Louisville was elected to the Kentucky Court of Appeals in Novem- ber 2012 and serves Division 1 of the 4th Appellate District, which encompasses all of Jefferson County. He has served in that position since April 2012 when he was ap- pointed to fill the vacancy left by Judge Thomas B. Wine. Judge Maze was a circuit court judge in Jefferson County for nearly five years until his appointment to the Court of Appeals. Prior to his appointment, he served as Jefferson County Attorney from 1999 until being appointed to the bench in 2008. A graduate of Indiana Uni- versity and the University of Louisville Bran- deis School of Law, he was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1976. Judge Maze is a Life Fellow. Dustan Chad McCoy practices law in Bard- stown with the law firm of McCoy & Hies- tand. A graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and the Universi- ty of Kentucky College of Law, he was ad- mitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1995. Mr. Mc- Coy is a Life Fellow. Frank Hampton Moore III practices law in Bowling Green with the law firm of Cole & Moore. A graduate of Transylvania Universi- ty and the Appalachian School of Law, he was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2009. Judge Joy A. Moore of Burlington was elected to the Kentucky Court of Appeals in November 2006 to serve Division 2 of the 6th Appellate District, and in July 2012 was appointed to the position of chief judge pro tem. Prior to her election to the Court of Appeals, Judge Moore served six years as chief law clerk for William O. Ber- telsman, senior judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. She has also served as a staff attorney to Kentucky Court of Appeals Judges Daniel T. Guidugli and Robert W. Dyche III, and as a special justice to the Supreme Court of Kentucky. A graduate of Morehead State University and Northern Kentucky Universi- ty Chase College of Law where she was a member of the Northern Kentucky Law Re- view, Judge Moore was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1996. Judge Christopher Shea Nickell of Paducah was elected to the Kentucky Court of Appeals in November 2006 and repre- sents Division 1 of the 1st Appellate Dis- trict. Prior to his election, Judge Nickell practiced law 22 years, serving as a Ken- tucky trial attorney, prosecutor, and public defender, and as a college instructor at Murray State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A gradu- ate of DePauw University and the University of Kentucky College of Law where he served as president of the Student Bar As- sociation, he was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1984. Judge Nickell is a Life Fellow. Rebecca R. Schafer practices law in L ouisville with the Reminger law firm. A graduate of the College of Saint Benedict and the University of Minnesota Law S chool, she was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2007. Ms. Schafer is a Life Fellow. Justice Will T. Scott of Pikeville was elect- ed to the Supreme Court of Kentucky in November 2004 to represent the 7th Supreme Court District, which consists of 22 counties in Eastern Kentucky. Justice Scott served as Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court from 2006 to 2010. He pre- viously served as a circuit court judge from 1984 to 1988. Before serving on the judici- ary, he practiced law as a trial attorney from 1975 to 1980 and as an Assistant Common- wealth's Attorney for Pike County from 1981 to 1982. A graduate of Pikeville Col- lege and the University of Miami School of Law, he was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1975 and is also a member of the Florida Bar. Justice Scott is a Life Fellow. Jennifer S. Smart practices law in Lexing- t on with the law firm of Stoll Keenon Og- den. A graduate of Louisiana State Univer- sity and Tulane University Law School, she w as admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1991 and is also a member of the Louisiana and Tennessee Bars. Ms. Smart is a Life Fellow. Richard M. Wehrle practices law in Lexing- ton with the law firm of Stites & Harbison. A graduate of the University of Kentucky and the University of Kentucky College of Law, he was admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 1983. Kristen N. Worak practices law in Paducah with the law firm of Denton & Keuler.
