She was previously a summer associate with BGD in 2016. Dohn earned her J.D. from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2017. Laura Habein joins the tax & employee benefits department in Louisville as an associate. As a law student, she was an extern for Judge Jon E. DeGuilio in the Northern District of Indiana District Court. She obtained her J.D. from the Notre Dame Law School, graduating magna cum laude. Michael Mercurio joins the corporate services department in Louisville as an associate. He was previously a summer associate with BGD in 2016. He focuses his practice in beverage alcohol law and other commercial/trans- actional matters. Kyle Miller joins the litigation department in Louisville as an associate with a focus on cybersecurity and privacy. He was previously a summer associate with BGD in 2016. Miller is a 2017 graduate of the Vanderbilt University Law School. He also holds a Master of Science in applied information technology from Bellarmine University. Gail Oppenheimer joins the corporate ser- vices department in Louisville. Oppenheimer focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions including acquisition, devel- opment, financing (construction and permanent), and disposition. She also has significant experience drafting and negotiating retail, office and industrial leases, property management agreements, and construction-related agreements. Prior to joining BGD, Oppen- heimer worked with Wyatt Tarrant & Combs, Frost Brown Todd, and Lynch Cox Gilman & Goodman. Lawrence & Associates is pleased to announce that Salmon P. Chase College of Law graduate, Kelsey Westermeyer became an associate attorney of Lawrence & Associates Law Firm in October 2017. Westermeyer focuses her practice on personal injury and social security law in the state of Kentucky. Stites & Harbison, PLLC , announces the addi- tion of seven new attorneys to the firm. Six of the attorneys are based in the Louisville office and one is based in the Lexington office. Louisville office additions: Neil Barton joins the torts & insurance practice service group. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2017. While in law school, Barton was editor-in-chief of the University of Louisville Law Review, volume 55. Prior to joining the firm, Barton served as a judi- cial intern for Magistrate Judge Colin H. Lindsay, Western District of Kentucky. Luke Ervin joins the business & finance service group. He grad- uated from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2017, magna cum laude. During law school, Ervin served as an arti- cles selection editor of the University of Louisville Law Review, volume 55. Before joining Stites & Harbison, Ervin was a summer associate for the firm in 2016. Mina Khalil joins the creditors' rights & bankruptcy service group. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 2015. Khalil served on the University of Louisville Law Review's Editorial Board as a note editor and was selected for online publication. During law school, he founded and served as president of the Multicultural Law Students Association (MLSA). Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Khalil was a judicial clerk for two years for U.S. Magistrate Judge Edward Atkins in Pikeville, Ky. Carolyn Purcell joins the business litigation service group. She earned her J.D. from the University of Louis- ville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, summa cum laude, in 2016. During law school, she was an articles selection editor for the University of Louisville Law Review, volume 54. Purcell joined Stites & Harbison after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Charles R. Simpson, III, U.S. District Court of the Western District of Ken- tucky. Jameson ( Jack) Seiffert joins the business & finance service group. He earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, cum laude, in 2017. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, he was a summer associate in 2016. Angelica Sanchez Vega joins the real estate service group. She earned her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School, cum laude, in 2017. While in law school, Sanchez Vega worked for the Legal Department of the City of South Bend and was an intern for Laura Devine Solicitors in London. Sanchez Vega's past work includes serving as a summer associ- ate for Stites & Harbison in 2016. Lexington office addition: Alison Zeitlin joins the business & finance service group. She graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2017. During law school, she was a productions editor for the Kentucky Law Journal and was a legal intern for the UK Legal Clinic. Zeitlin previously participated in the firm's summer associate program in 2015 and 2016. O'Br yan, Brown & Toner, PLLC , is pleased to announce Elizabeth Beal , Cullen Rooney and Michelle Fox have recently joined the firm. Beal graduated from the College of Wooster, cum laude, with a degree in communication sciences and disorders in 2012. ereafter, she obtained a post-graduate degree in accountancy from the University of Louisville while also working as a legal assistant at a mid-sized litigation firm spe- cializing in hospital and product defense. Beal went on to graduate cum laude from the Univer- sity of Kentucky College of Law in 2017. Beal's practice is dedicated to insurance defense litiga- tion, with a particular focus in representing health care professionals against claims of professional negligence.
